# Sponsorship opportunities

We back [athletes](https://materiaal.cc/pages/athletes) and teams who will put Materiaal wheels to work. The goals are simple:

## Sponsorship levels

We provide wheels for your use during an initial sponsorship term of up to two years. Ownership of the wheels remains with Materiaal, Inc.

Each sponsorship agreement is tailored to the athlete or team, including the wheel allocation and any other requirements.

We supply your wheelsets with freehubs compatible with your drivetrain configuration and are happy to help choose the Materiaal wheels that best suit your racing goals.

Please [get in touch](#get-in-touch) as we may have wheels in development or be able to develop a wheelset specifically for your requirements. Riders in other disciplines are welcome to get in touch, too. We will do our best to assist.

### Working with a team

The team manages its wheel allocations amongst its riders, keeps track of the wheels, and provides one main point of contact. We agree on wheel requirements and service arrangements together. If a rider leaves, the wheels they were using stay with the team for reassignment or eventual return to Materiaal, Inc.

## No costs or fees

We provide sponsored athletes and teams with wheels **at no cost** for use during their sponsorship.

Materiaal also covers delivery and return costs for sponsored wheels, including for required repairs and replacements.

Whether you are a Junior just starting to race internationally, a full Continental road team, or an Elite privateer taking on the world, we're here to help.

## What we ask

- [x] **Race hard.** Put the wheels to work in training and competition. They are built for the demands of racing.
- [x] **Provide honest feedback.** Tell us what works, what doesn't, and what you would change to help us build better wheels
- [x] **Represent yourself professionally.** Treat fellow riders, race officials, volunteers, and supporters with respect, on and off the course.
- [x] **Treat the materiaal :wink: with respect.** Keep the wheels maintained, follow setup instructions, and let us know about any issues promptly.
- [x] **Ride Materiaal exclusively.** Use Materiaal wheels for training and racing in the disciplines and seasons we agree to sponsor.
- [x] **Work with us patiently and professionally.** If something goes wrong, we'll work together to find a solution.

For individual non-elite athletes, there are **no social media requirements**. A small (or no) social media following will not count against your sponsorship application. Any elite athlete or team commitments are agreed on before the sponsorship begins.

With your permission, we’ll feature you on our [Athletes page](https://materiaal.cc/pages/athletes) and capture photos and videos of you racing for use on our website, social media and other marketing channels.

## Support when something goes wrong

Sponsored athletes and teams receive the full [Materiaal Race Ready Limited Warranty](/warranty/readme.md) coverage. Any fees, charges, or limits in that policy do not apply to your sponsored wheels during your sponsorship term. You are covered.

If a sponsored wheel is accidentally damaged, we'll repair or replace the wheel or its components at no cost to you, as often as needed during your sponsorship.

If a wheel is damaged, stop using it and contact us with photos and the wheel ID or rim barcode. We will work to resolve the issue quickly, keep you informed, and do our absolute best to minimize disruption to your racing.

## Your sponsored wheels

Ownership
: All sponsored wheels and replacements remain the property of **Materiaal, Inc.** Do not sell, give away, or pass them outside the agreed allocation without our approval.

Sponsorship term
: The initial term is **up to two years**.

Renewal
: After two years, if the partnership is working well and we both agree to continue, we exchange your current wheels for new wheels and begin a new sponsorship term.

Changes and returns
: If your plans change or the sponsorship ends, we arrange the return of the wheels with you.

- Your name and contact details.
- An introduction to you or your team, including where you are based.
- Your discipline and race plans for the upcoming year or season.
- Your bike(s), drivetrain spec, wheel requirements, and any existing sponsor arrangements that might be conflicting.
- Any additional information you would like to let us know about.
